The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI & DS) at Sri Krishna College of Technology was established in 2021 to train students and conduct research in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Bachelor of Technology in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a four-year undergraduate engineering degree program.

The field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade, emerging as a distinct branch of Computer Engineering. This growth has led to a paradigm shift across various sectors, including industry, academia, and research.

With a current student strength of 438, the department is supported by a dedicated team of 20 faculty members. Students gain extensive exposure to a wide range of technologies, including Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Big Data. They are encouraged to pursue internships and industry training at renowned firms. Actively engaged in industrial training and research activities, the department has made significant contributions to the field, seamlessly bridging academia and industry.

The AI & DS department provides a platform for students to engage in hands-on learning, foster innovation, and tackle dynamic challenges in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The overall learning experience is further enriched through co-curricular activities such as technical workshops, Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) initiatives, industry visits, guest lectures, seminars, soft skills development workshops, coding competitions, and Smart India Hackathon (SIH) participation.

Leading multinational corporations such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Flipkart, and Twitter leverage AI and Data Science techniques to analyze user data and identify patterns and trends. Similarly, banking and financial institutions, including Barclays, HDFC, Citi Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Avaya, utilize Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for risk analysis, stock market trend predictions, and investment banking.
