The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, established in 1985, is renowned for its exceptional teaching and research, supported by a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members. Dr.K.Muthulakshmi’s academic journey reflects her commitment to advancing her expertise in Electronics and Communication Engineering. As Professor and Head of the department, her leadership is evident in her ability to guide and inspire students, faculty, and research teams. Under her leadership, the department has sustained its reputation for excellence in both teaching and research, thanks to her vision, guidance, and dedication to creating a supportive and innovative environment. Dr. K.Muthulakshmi began her academic career by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women, Thanjavur, in 1999, which laid the foundation for her scholarly pursuits. She further developed her expertise with a Master’s degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, in 2008. In 2016, Dr. K.Muthulakshmi achieved her doctoral degree in Information and Communication Technology from Anna University, Chennai.
Her doctoral research focused on the development of network frameworks in the field of Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks. Her unwavering dedication to engineering innovation is evident through her extensive 25 years of teaching and research experience. Dr. K. Muthulakshmi has made a profound impact on the development of network frameworks within academia. She has significantly influenced engineering education by guiding 15 postgraduate projects and 52 undergraduate batches, inspiring the next generation of engineers. Dr.K.Muthulakshmi’s exceptional research expertise is highlighted by her impressive publication record, which includes 25 papers in top-tier international journals. Additionally, she has demonstrated her research prowess by presenting at 20 international and 35 national conferences, further solidifying her position as a renowned expert in her field. Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. K. Muthulakshmi actively disseminates her knowledge and expertise to the broader academic community.
She has been invited to deliver guest lectures at several esteemed institutions and has successfully organized numerous funded programs, including seminars, workshops, conferences, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). These initiatives have received support from prestigious agencies such as the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), AICTE, and ISRO. Dr. K. Muthulakshmi’s commitment to mentoring and guiding students has played a significant role in shaping the next generation of engineers and researchers. Her passion for Electronics and Communication Engineering has undoubtedly inspired many students to pursue their own research interests and make meaningful contributions to the field.
