The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, at Sri Krishna College of Technology was established in the year 2000 and is accredited by NBA. The department also offers a two-year postgraduate program in M.E – Power Systems Engineering from the year 2013 onwards that delves into specialized aspects of Power Systems Engineering. The department is a recognized Research Centre by Anna University, Chennai. Ph.D. program in core Electrical Engineering specializations serves as a platform for advanced research, contributing substantially to the field’s knowledge.

With a current student strength of 466, the department is fortified by a dedicated team of 28 faculty members. Students gain extensive exposure to a wide spectrum of technologies related to Power Systems, Power Electronics, Fault Analysis, Automation systems, Energy Auditing, Control Circuit Design and Microcontroller Programming. Students are motivated to pursue internships and industry trainings at renowned firms. Actively participating in Industrial training and research activities, the department has made noteworthy contributions to the field, seamlessly bridging academia and industry.

The department technical Clubs, Joule’s Club and Intelligent Transport System, provide a platform for students to explore with hands-on learning, foster innovation, and actively contribute in dynamic and evolving challenges of the energy and transportation sectors. Students overall learning experience are also improved by co-curricular activities like technical workshops, E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Cell), Industry Visits, Guest Lectures, Seminars, Soft Skills Development Workshops, Hackathons, and Coding Competitions.

The department foster a culture of continuous learning and networking, encouraging the students to engage with professional bodies like IEEE. The department alumni of the department is instrumental in inculcating positive growth in academic research, technology industry in all significant ways over the course of its existence.
